Nicholas Borda – Half and Full Adder

This board has two IC adders. The adder on the top is a half adder that has an input of 2 bits, uses 2 logic gate ICs (XOR and AND) and has an output of 2 bits. The adder on the bottom is a full adder that has an input of 3 bits, uses 3 logic gate ICs (XOR, AND, and OR), and has an output of 2 bits. The attached schematic document also includes a version with universal logic gates. This design wasn’t actually manufactured, but instead shows that any digital logic circuit, simple or complex, can be made using only NAND or NOR gates.
