Repairing my Casio Watch at M5

Today, I will showcase how I repaired my Casio Watch with tools only at M5! Repairing your own electronics is a valuable skill, and can save you lots of money throughout your life.

To preface this adventure, I have a Casio Worldtimer AE1200H. However recently, it stopped blinking. I tested the LED’s which didn’t light up, so I knew it was a problem with the battery.

My casio watch!

I started by opening up my watch my unscrewing the 4 screws at the back, carefully paying attention to the rubber seals, and the screws.

I then prodded with the battery connector, and found a weak connection. As soon I took out the battery and re attached the hook securing the battery, the watch started ticking again.

I also had to make sure the capacitors inside the watch were discharged, and I did that by connecting the AC hold with the ground plate of the watch.

Finally, I cleaned up the watch and reassembled it!
