Dear reader,

Being an ECE student is difficult! Alongside being a vast and complicated subject, we’re given a hefty amount of work. At the end of the day you probably find yourself a little fried and unable to do anything but stream your favorite show.

This was my life a few weeks ago: I’d go to lecture, finish my homework, work, then let my brain rot for hours in front of my computer.

I began to wonder if Electrical Engineering was for me. Did I want to spend the rest of my life feeling burnt out by the time I got home?

It was in asking this question that I stumbled on my coworkers Adi and Fiona preparing for their respective (very awesome) M5 events. I realized that ECE students can make the coolest stuff!

Inspired, I dug through one of our many SparkFun sensors, and built myself a set of mini DJ lights (shameless plug). I woke up the next day feeling refreshed; I had rediscovered why I wanted to be a part of the UMass ECE department!

Take it from me, if there’s anything you need to get through the rest of the semester, it isn’t that new romcom on Paramount Plus, it’s starting that wild project that you’ve been itching to accomplish.

Monday -Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm

Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Weekends from 12:00pm to 7:00pm
