Machine Shop Speaker Update

Unfortunately, we had a problem in the machine shop, the second speaker that lived above the table saw unfortunately stopped working. It stopped working shortly after I wrapped the wires that were hanging down from the ceiling. I decided to put a new wire in, hoping that it worked

this is what I was greeted with when I climbed up in the ceiling to put the new wire in.

I put the new wire in and it still didn’t work so I knew there was going to be a bigger problem

Here I called in some help from project night. Fiona and Robert

we removed some parts and took it to the Pi Room to hopefully find some answers on what went wrong

we concluded that the electromagnet in the speaker was broken, and because of the way it was attached to the diaphragm, it is impossible to repair.

Unfortunately we were unable to fix the speaker, but in the end we got to poke around a speaker during project night, so we need to take the wins we can get.
